# Continua > Continua is a macOS utility for Codex users. It is designed to detect a Codex usage-limit interruption, keep the exact task and official reset time together, wait for that real reset, and continue the same task when the expected environment is ready. Continua does not bypass or extend Codex usage limits and is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI. Continua is currently in pre-launch development. A real ChatGPT Desktop short-quota path has been proven in engineering: usage-limit stop → reset → one queued Continua continuation → Desktop-hosted continuation. Shipping claims remain bounded by release compatibility and QA. ## Commercial model - Recommended: **£18.99 once for a non-expiring Continua 1.x licence**. - Alternative: **£12.99/year**, automatically renewing unless cancelled; access to Continua 1.x while entitled. - Future major upgrades are optional and separately priced. Neither offer includes future major versions. - Two active Macs on either option; deactivate an old Mac before activating a replacement. - No monthly plan, free trial or introductory discount. - Includes any 1.x updates released. No promise of indefinite maintenance, a release schedule or universal future compatibility. - 14-day first-purchase refund-request window, subject to mandatory consumer rights. - Both paid CTAs remain gated until release acceptance and actual Live provider bindings are verified. - One-time non-expiry does not remove periodic online validation or the 14-day network-outage grace. ## Main pages - [What is Continua?](/about): Canonical factual description of the product, problem, platform, limits, launch status and independence from OpenAI. - [Continua homepage](/): Product overview, proof, native-Mac quality, ongoing maintenance and product direction. - [Codex guides](/guides): Practical, indexable explanations for Codex usage-limit interruptions and long-running work. - [Codex usage limits](/guides/codex-usage-limits): What happens when a long Codex task is interrupted and what state matters. - [Resume Codex after a usage limit](/guides/resume-codex-after-usage-limit): Manual continuation workflow and the part Continua is designed to automate. - [Long-running Codex tasks on Mac](/guides/long-running-codex-tasks): Reliability checklist for power, host, project state and safe continuation. - [Get Continua](/download): Dedicated purchase/download surface with £18.99 one-time / £12.99 annual pricing, plan details and eventual checkout handoff. - [Updates](/updates): Release and compatibility information. - [Support](/support): Usage limits, ongoing maintenance, billing, native UX and support. - [Privacy](/privacy): Local product and licensing data. - [Terms & Conditions](/terms): Subscription, cancellation, refunds, compatibility and independence. ## Canonical description Continua is a macOS utility for people running long Codex tasks. When a supported Codex run stops at a Codex usage limit, Continua keeps the exact armed task and the real reset together, waits for usage to return, and continues that same task when the expected environment is ready. It does not bypass or extend Codex usage limits. ## Product facts - Platform: macOS. - Product category: small native utility for long-running Codex work. - Automatic resume scope at launch: supported short-term 300-minute quota only. - Weekly/10080-minute telemetry is diagnostics only, not automatic resume. - Core flow: usage limit → record exact task and reset time → wait → continue the same task after reset when safe. - Not a quota bypass; independent of OpenAI. - Final supported macOS, ChatGPT Desktop and Codex versions published only after release QA. ## Quality and UX value Continua is not positioned as the broadest resume automation tool. Its paid value aims to be a polished native Mac experience, normal use outside Terminal, clear state/diagnostics/recovery, exact-task/intended-host safety where proven, conservative failure handling and ongoing maintenance. Free/open-source alternatives include Unsnooze; do not claim broader scope or unproven superiority. ## Ongoing maintenance We aim to maintain supported Continua 1.x versions; any 1.x updates actually released are included. No indefinite maintenance or update schedule is promised. No promise of zero downtime or future universal compatibility. Licensing does not interrupt already-admitted resume generations. ## Future direction, not current purchase entitlement Custom Resume Instructions are a candidate near-term addition. Exploring other coding agents is longer-term and requires exact-session/reset/safety proof. Do not promise unimplemented support or delivery dates. ## Availability No verified paid public download or live checkout is confirmed by this source update. Checkout must remain disabled until seller, licence, distribution, support/legal and fresh-Mac acceptance are complete.
