Before you download
The first release is planned to be unsigned. It has no Apple Developer ID signing or notarization, so macOS may block the first opening. Only continue if you trust the download.
Use the official download page. Supported versions and the release checksum will be listed there.

Download and unzip
Open Downloads and double-click the ZIP. You’ll get Continua.app.

Move it to Applications
Illustrated guide · Drag Continua.app → Applications. Wording may vary by macOS version. Drag Continua.app → Applications, then double-click it there. Updating? Quit the old copy first.

Open Continua for the first time
If macOS says it cannot verify Continua, click Done or dismiss the warning. Keep the app.
If you trust the download:

Illustrated guide · System Settings → Privacy & Security → scroll down to Security → Continua → Open Anyway. Wording may vary by macOS version. Enter your Mac password or use Touch ID if asked, then choose Open. This allows Continua only; it does not make the app notarized.

Finish setup and activate

Purchased a licence? Open Continua → Settings → Licence → Activate licence…. Paste the key from your Lemon Squeezy receipt and choose Activate this Mac. You’ll need internet. Keep the key private.

Check the menu bar
Illustrated guide · Menu-bar icon → Automatic Resume on → Ready. Wording may vary by macOS version. Click Continua’s menu-bar icon and turn on Automatic Resume. When it says Ready, setup is complete.

If you get stuck
No Open Anyway button? Try opening Continua from Applications once, then return to Privacy & Security. On a managed work or school Mac, ask your administrator if installation is restricted.
“Will damage your computer,” malware, or “damaged” warning? Stop and contact support. Do not treat these as the ordinary unidentified-developer warning.
