What is Continua?
Continua is a macOS utility for people running long Codex tasks. A usage limit can interrupt an AI coding task. Continua is designed to preserve that task, wait for actual usage availability, and auto-resume in the original supported environment.
What problem does Continua solve?
Long Codex tasks can stop when a usage limit is reached. Without Continua, a user may need to remember the interrupted task, wait for the reset, return to the correct environment, and continue it manually. Continua is designed to handle that interruption workflow without switching to a different task or bypassing the limit.
Does Continua bypass Codex usage limits?
No. Continua waits for the genuine usage reset. It does not defeat, extend or circumvent a Codex quota.
What platform is Continua for?
Continua is being built for macOS. Public release support will be limited to the macOS, ChatGPT Desktop and Codex versions that pass release QA.
How does continuation work?
The intended flow is: a genuine usage-limit interruption is observed, the exact task and real reset are kept together, Continua waits, and the same task is continued only when the expected supported environment is available again. If the expected host cannot be verified, Continua should wait rather than guess another task or app.
Is Continua an OpenAI product?
No. Continua is independent software for Codex users and is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI.
Is Continua available now?
Continua is currently pre-launch. Paid checkout and the customer download remain disabled while release, compatibility, support and commercial checks are completed. You can join early access for launch updates.
